Library Centre application support

I have been asked to put this on my blog page. My support for application sent to planners late last year.

"I am fully in support of this application. Willesden deserves a higher profile centre with good facilities. Although I was not personally too concerned whether or not the old library frontage was retained, I appreciated that many of my constituents did, so promoted this and am pleased at the retention of the frontage. Also pleased that the developers managed to incorporate it and have addressed other concerns expressed during the consultation.  I think the rebuilt centre will be a busy and vibrant place, a fair contrast to the Wembley Civic Centre. The developers have ensured that the library space is larger, with more room for both books and computers.

I applaud the BREEAM rating.

More counters for the One Stop Shop is welcome (hopefully fewer queues and waits in future).

I welcome the services to be developed and hope others may be considered, such as a police "counter"and more setting down places for cars to let out their passengers.

The old library is expensive to run, often underused and with wasted space.

I support the application and hope objectors draw in their sometimes unreasonable criticisms."
